Is it still relevant to build a house using mostly regular lumber? It’s good for the frame, but it’s too expensive now to use as a base material. My wife and I just bought a piece of land and want to build our family house. It’s not the best time, but we want to try because who knows what will happen in the future.
So, we’ve been thinking about alternative materials for at least the external works. And by alternative, I mean plastic lumber from https://www.bearboardlumber.com/pallets-dunnage/. It looks fine, and it’s made from food plastic that’s safe to use. It can be treated as regular wood and doesn’t have to be maintained at all. It’s also cheaper and simpler to use. What do you think of it? Is it the future?
