Each log is hand selected for its density, strength, and individual characteristics bends, twists and burls. Then cut and carried out of the bush by hand. I only use solid Ontario air dried pine, log furniture made with this wood (pine) has proven itself to be durable and beautiful. Logs are draw knife peeled, tenon & mortise joints, heavy duty log lag screws are counter sunk a ¼", holes are pre drilled to stop end splinting, generous amount of carpenters glue and completely hand sanded with 60 grit then 100 grit sand paper plus your choice of finish. Solid 2" x 4" spruce spreaders are used for the mattress frame. Plus 3" tenon & mortise joints on all main supports & mattress frame, nobody else does this the reason is it is hard to do! You won't find any particle board in our line of handcrafted log furniture.

All of our work is custom commissioned projects. 50% down to begin all work, with the balance to be paid upon completion. Most rustic handcrafted log furniture projects have a turn around time of 30 - 60 days. My slower season is late fall and into the early part of winter.
All pine logs are cut from selected building & lot clearing from local new home builders.
CHECKING

The natural process of checking is inherent in log furniture. Checking (cracking) results when logs release moisture while seasoning. Checking adds to the rustic nature and character aesthetics of pine. It does not effect the integrity of the structural performance.
