Please.. some advice on my living room and how i could have things?

Ok so I'm in a flat, first off you come through the front door directly in front is my daughter bedroom to the right is my bedroom and to the left is the hallway go down the hallway 3 metres... your in the front room then through the front room is the kitchen and onto that the bathroom. its a 'long' flat if you can imagine that.. My question is, how would i put furniture ect in the front room as the doors to the front room and kitchen are opposite each other the front room is 396 cm door frame to door frame and 320 cm width.. Am i making sence?
Its annoying coz i see it as i can only have it one way :(
Any one have ideas..
