The Granary WoodShops is dedicated to designing and building handcrafted fine rustic furniture and one-of-a-kind home furnishings. We strive to use exclusively antique lumber, recycled or reclaimed wood, and individually selected sticks, twigs, logs and natural elements in every piece of custom furniture we make.

All of our custom furniture pieces combine nature and history to create cabin or home furnishings with a unique and individual story. Please explore this sampling of our work, or contact us with your ideas about making a unique and special handcrafted treasure for you.

Tim Blanski of the Granary Woodshops has been working with Rustic Furniture and natural crafts for over 12 years. In 2001, Tim left a corporate technology career to move from St. Paul, MN to a small rural farm in Minnesota where he can focus full time on the "elegant rustic arts" and custom furniture making. Tim is a professional artisan and woodworker who enjoys combining elements from nature with antique, recycled, or reclaimed wood from America's rural heritage to create elegant furniture with an individual story. Each and every piece is one of a kind and hand crafted. Tim uses only recycled wood, of which the majority is over 100 years old. All of the natural twigs, sticks, pinecones, bark, or other elements are collected from his own farm woodland or from travels across the country.
Tim also draws on the classic Adirondack birch bark design of the Great Camps of upstate New York around the turn of the 20th century. He has traveled to New York and studied the craft of the local Adirondack artisans, as well as the early and modern artists and furniture makers of the Great Camp period and style.
The designs of the Granary WoodShops are meant to be decorative as well as functional. Pieces from the Granary Woodshops reside in fine homes as well as log cabins from Connecticut to Florida, and from California to Iowa.
